We've been slowly drip feeding the Spezial X CP Company trainers onto the site, and predictably enough they aren't hanging around long! The final two models celebrate two styles of trainer that have seen previous Spezial releases go down extremely well. The Helvellyn SPZL are the newest form of hiking hybrid, and the SL 83 SPZL build on previous good work by the Spezial team in using vintage SL models. To add some extras in we've also restocked the SPZL F.C Track Top and a couple pairs of Whitworth SPZL.
SL 80 + SL 72 = SL 83
The maths might not make any sense but it essentially sums up what the SL 83 SPZL is, a mash up of all our favourite SL models. The heel design and eyelets have been taken from the SL 80, but the t-toe suede overlay is definitely out of the SL 72 or SL 76 textbook. The upper material is however completely new, it's called dyneema fabric and is much more robust than the traditional nylon.
Hiaven evolved into Helvellyn
Lovers of the hiking hybrid collection of Spezial trainers will be thrilled that a new model has made it into the SPZL X CP Company range, and it's another delight this time called the Helvellyn. Based on the vintage adidas Nepal, the upper has been upgraded to ballistic nylon to make the most durable adidas Spezial hiking shoe yet, and of course features the adi-tex membrane on the inside.
SPZL F.C Restock
The Spezial F.C range may have been slightly overshadowed by the collaboration with CP Company, but the collection is still something to be celebrated as part of the decade year of releases. This Track Top has a thick feel to it almost like a blanket, so is an ideal track top for the winter. There are front pockets on either side of the zip as you would expect with a track top.
And finally.. a couple more Whitworth
It feels like a long time since the release of the adidas Whitworth, which was part of the first collection of last year and therefore was in the first collection of 10 Year anniversary trainers. The Whitworth were extremely popular on release and likely to have been made in extra limited quantities. If you've got big feet then you're in luck as our restock is only for sizes 10 and up.
