Spezial returns with a mix of old and new

After the extravaganza of the 10 year anniversary celebration of adidas Spezial, it was hard to know what this year would look like. The early signs suggest they're looking much like any other Spezial year, after the recent SS25 collection. The standout trainer of the range is the TRX Mesh SPZL, which we've added today alongside some older models such as the Moston Super SPZL, Englewood SPZL and Wensley SPZL.

Please note we will be stocking the entire SS25 SPZL footwear collection across the next few weeks, all reduced from RRP aside from the TRX Mesh SPZL. There will also be some very limited apparel options coming too.

Iconic TRX re-make

Anything TRX related with a blue and yellow colourway is bound to set off the nostalgia for the 1980 film McVicar, which had a prominent feature for a TRX model in this colourway. For 2025, the shoe has been bought back for a Spezial collection with an EVA midsole, mesh upper and suede overlays. To keep things a bit unique, the last stripe overlaps with the overlay, which is inspired by a 2000 made pair of Marathon.

Decade celebration Wensley

With the vast range of collections last year, it's difficult to remember which pair was released when and alongside which other models. The second version of Wensley SPZL were part of the first decade collection, released in early 2024. Aside from the obvious colour change, the main alteration from the first Wensley SPZL is the tongue, which has become much sturdier and now features SPZL branding.

SPZL from even further back

If the launch of the Wensley feels like a long time ago, then the Englewood SPZL will feel like ancient history. This model was part of the AW23 collection, and is a classic Spezial hybrid shoe. The tooling has been taken from the well-known Campus 80, and the upper is inspired by a vintage high-top trainer that has been adapted by no longer being high-top.

The Englewood isn't the only pair from the AW23 range we're adding this week, as the Lawkholme SPZL is back in stock as well. The Lawkholme SPZL are an example of the Spezial team trying to appeal to different markets by being a bit different from the norm, as shown by the lack of stripes. The model has a nice leather upper, suede overlays and tooling taken from the iconic Micropacer.

And finally.. more Moston Super

Our final restock this week is for the Moston Super SPZL, which arrived in the same collection as the Wensley SPZL. The Moston have been in stock on the website for a while now, but a handful of extra sizes have been made available so if your size was missing before, it might not be now.
